About project

The Moscow Region is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia. Undoubtedly, the economic growth leads to the population growth, the dynamics of labor recourses, freight-traffic volumes, level of motorization. Everything mentioned above caused serious traffic difficulties. Nowadays the roads of only the Moscow Region are used by about 1,5 million cars a day. Severe traffic jams have already become a matter of routine.

The deterioration of transport system is intensified by radial-ring structure of automobile roads. Almost all transit flows are to cross Moscow. Nevertheless nowadays MRR and Moscow internal ring A-107 are run out of their capacity.

Economic losses and extra expenditures connected with difficulties arising while shipment of cargo are significant enough, to say nothing of psychological pressure on population and damage from road accidents.
In order to improve the current situation there was made a decision to carry out the project of Central ring road construction.

To begin with, the road construction will result in the reduction of number of heavy and transit means of transport in Moscow.

To provide an effective redistribution of cargo far from the region centre near CRR a system of logistics centers is supposed to be created. An improved highway component of international transport corridor will be formed: № 2 (London – Berlin – Minsk – Moscow - Nizhniy Novgorod) and № 9 (Helsinki - St. Petersburg – Moscow – Kiev - South-eastern Europe).

One of the most perspective directions in project execution is a complex development of infrastructure and the Moscow Region territories and adjoining the Tver Region, the Yaroslavl Region, the Vladimir Region, the Ryazan Region, the Kaluga Region, the Tula Region, the Smolensk Region.

On the whole the project of Central ring road construction will substantially contribute to the growth of social and economic potential of the Moscow Region, the development of and increase in export turnover of transport services, the creation of about 200 000 new work places.
